The following photographs were all taken on a sunny day in July 2006 during a flight from Bodmin airfield.
You don’t have to be a member of the Cornwall Flying Club and you don’t have to have a private pilot’s licence either. These photos were taken during a one hour trial lesson. Of course, a passenger took them, and not the pilot or instructor.
The plane took off from Bodmin and headed south to Fowey. It turned east at the coast and flew along the coast past Polperro and Talland Bay to Looe. It then headed north to Liskeard, before continuing over Siblyback Reservoir, Brown Willy and Rough Tor, before reaching the north coast.
Turning west, it followed the coast to Padstow and the river Camel, before turning south and following the Camel past Wadebridge and landing once again in Bodmin.
This is a fantastic way to see the area, and great fun as well. A flight like this makes a great present for someone you love, or a great treat for yourself!
