1 Caradon Hill

Caradon Hill is an easy landmark with its television braodcasting arials on the top.

From the mid to late 19th century there was extensive mining around the Caradon Hill area, primarily mining for copper. There is a circular walk around Caradon, with plenty of evidence of the old mining works.

2 St Cleer

St Cleer lies north of Liskeard on the B3254 St Cleer Road. After about half a mile go straight on rather than following the road as it bends right. St Cleer is about a mile further on, up on the moors.

Seen in the middle of this picture is St Cleer church, which is dedicated to St Clarus.

Just before you enter the village you will find the Taste of the Westcountry farm shop.

3 Siblyback Lake Reservoir

If you continue through St Cleer the road comes to a junction after about half a mile. Turn left and then immediately right and follow the lane for another mile or so. At the end is Siblyback Lake Reservoir.

4 Colliford Lake Reservoir

Lying to the north west of Siblyback Reservoir, Colliford Lake Reservoir is considerably larger. Like Siblyback, Colliford Lake provides fresh water fishing, although permits are required. For details of how to get a fishing permit ring 01579 342366. Fishing permits can also be arranged at the Homeleigh Angling Centre, near Launceston on 01566 773147.

5 Davidstow airfield

Davidstow moor airfield was a former RAF airfield. It is still in use by micorlights and the occasional light aircraft although the runways are full of pot holes.

Perhaps the most common use is the locals giving their teenagers driving lessons, were the chance of them hitting anything else is about as remote as you can get!

6 North coast

Having crossed Bodmin Moor we arrived at the north coast.

This is a spectacular coastline with stunning cliffs and superb beaches.
