Here at SAS & Trewartha’s Plumbing and Heating Ltd we use our extensive knowledge in the installation of solid fuel wood/multi fuel pellet systems and their ability to be interconnected with other fuel sources, to incorporate the best system design - bespoke for your property and your individual needs.
For example, thoughtful system planning can allow us to harness surplus heat from a solid fuel wood boiler with the incorporation of a back boiler to add to a heating thermostore.
Numerous system variations include wood stoves, coal stoves and multi fuel stoves all with or without back boilers and Rayburn stoves. Why not harness that heat when it is surplus?

Ground source heat pumps work by extracting heat from the ground to pre-heat an electrical inverter and transferring to a thermo store cylinder or hot water cylinder where, for every £1 spent, you obtain £4 worth of heat output.
Ground source heat pumps require a bore hole to be installed. We are an accredited installer with Worcester Bosch who, through their team of renewable consultants, advise on the best system for your property and the approximate running costs for heating and hot water.
Combining this system with a solar hot water system may benefit you further, resulting in very low running costs. At SAS & Trewartha’s Plumbing and Heating Ltd we also work with suppliers other than Worcester Bosch to advise on such schemes to ensure we select the most appropriate system for your needs.
These systems incorporating solar are very efficient with underfloor heating system.

Operating similarly to ground source heat pumps, Air source heat pumps use the air to convert energy through evaporation, transferring the heat from the pump to a cylinder or heat bank. These units are ideally suited for use in conjunction with solar systems to provide heat to a house, preferably with an under floor system or radiators.
Air Source heat pumps are often the preferred option for:
• Smaller properties with limited garden
• Properties without mains gas connection
• Cheaper installation
